Itinerary
Day 1: US – Night on board Arrival at your US departure airport ready to check in for a flight * to Cape Town. Night on board.
Day 2: Continue your journey to South Africa Continue your journey to South Africa. As there is a time difference you may lose a day during the outward journey, but this will be recouped on your return trip back home. Don’t worry, you are not in-flight for two days.
Day 3: Cape Town Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure exploring the city. Overnight stay in Cape Town.
Day 4: Cape Town Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the entire day at your leisure, perfect for you to acquaint yourself with your new surroundings. Alternatively, we recommend you take part in our optional Cape Winelands excursion and cellar tour, complete with a wine and cheese tasting*.
Later in the evening, you will take part in a stunning sunset cruise with a complimentary glass of bubbly to end your day in style. Overnight stay in Cape Town. Please note: Transfer is not included.
Day 5: Cape Town Breakfast at the hotel. The whole day is yours to spend as you see fit. Take this time to go café hopping and acquaint yourself with Cape Town’s varied culinary delights. Alternatively, we recommend taking part in the optional full-day tour of the Cape Peninsula. Overnight stay in Cape Town.
Day 6: Cape Town – Wilderness Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you will be leaving Cape Town to head over to Wilderness via the famous Garden Route by bus. Upon arriving, enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Take this time to explore your new surroundings or perhaps take advantage of the hotel facilities and pool at your disposal. Overnight stay in Wilderness.
Day 7: Wilderness – Port Elizabeth Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Knysna, a natural paradise of lush, indigenous forests, tranquil lakes and golden beaches. Here, you will get to witness the Waterfront (the Garden Route’s most popular leisure & shopping destination) where you can enjoy the view onto the lagoon. From here, you will make your way to Port Elizabeth. Once you have arrived, check-in and overnight stay in Port Elizabeth.
Day 8: Port Elizabeth Breakfast at the hotel. Today, embark on an early morning game drive in Addo Elephant National Park where you will marvel at South Africa’s impressive wildlife, including the famed Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo). Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Alternatively, you can take part in a once-in-a-lifetime optional excursion walking alongside Giraffes*, a truly unique experience that will be hard to forget. Overnight stay in Port Elizabeth.
Day 9: Port Elizabeth Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy the entire day at your leisure. Use this last full day to contemplate the beauty of South Africa before departing. Perhaps this would be a good time to go last minute souvenir shopping. Alternatively, take part in one of our two optional morning activities; either a game drive at the Addo Elephant National Park* where you could spot the Big 5 or the Whale, Dolphin & Penguin cruise** on a catamaran on both St. Croix and Brenton Islands. In the afternoon, feel free to participate in our optional tour of Cape Recife***. Overnight stay in Port Elizabeth.
Day 10: Port Elizabeth – Night on board Breakfast * at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back to the US. Night on board. * Depending on the return flight schedule and the hotel breakfast service, you may not be able to enjoy the included breakfast on the last day.
